Anyone else's AC completely useless by June or is it just my car?

Every single year around late May my AC starts acting like it's doing me a favour by blowing slightly cool air, and by June it's basically a fan with commitment issues. I've topped up the refrigerant twice already at those quick lube places and it holds for maybe three weeks before it's back to lukewarm misery. A colleague swears the problem is never the gas itself but a leak somewhere in the system that nobody bothers tracing properly, which honestly makes sense now that I think about it. I was poking around trying to find out more about how to actually get this diagnosed instead of just refilling it over and over, and I realised I've been throwing money at a symptom this whole time. Sitting in traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road with no AC in July should honestly be classified as a form of torture. So before I waste another couple hundred dirhams on a top up that won't last, has anyone actually had a proper leak test done here and did it solve the problem long term? Also curious whether it's worth doing before summer properly hits or if I'm already too late and should just accept my fate.
