I've updated dlink dir-320 router to Firmware Version : 1.22.

Now I've the problem of changing the administrator username and password. None of them is able to be changed.

Username field is not shown and when I trying to change password, it returns "Nothing Changed"

Did you reset to the factory settings after firmware upgrade?

No. If I reset factory settings, firmware version would be also resetted to 1.00.

No. FW version will still the same. Reset to the factory settings is necessary after upgrade. Perhaps it will solve the problem.

Reset button and "Restore Device" are the same. Only settings will be resetted. Not FW version.
After resetting you should make all settings again manually, not from a saved file. It's important!

Now I've tried to reset. Username field still was not visible. It was always "admin". Only password was visible again and I could only password changing. http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=53150.0 - this problem is the same. Seems, If I had "admin" username in version 1.00, now password change would have no problem, but I've updated 1.22 and load settings saved from 1.00 and now password change is not possible.

One more question, if you can answer. Yesterday I configured DDNS settings. Everything worked fine. Today electricity suspended and router rebooted. These cause to change Internet MAC Address, is that right? Or if I've configured DDNS and not rebooted router, when it rebooted automatically caused MAC change?

And at what interval it makes DNS update? At a particular period, when IP changes or when rebooted? In settings there is no field to set such period.

Need to setup manually, not from a saved configuration file.


It depends from wan-connection type and/or settings on ISP equipment: IP-address usually change, for example, on "Dynamic IP" or "PPPoe", when router connects to ISP.


I don't know, but i think when status of wan-connection is changing from "disconnected" to "connected".

Yes that's right. In new version, seems there is no possibility to change username and it should be always "admin" and If I want to change password,I should not load settings from older 1.00 version and set it manually.



As I monitoring in log, "Updating dynamic DNS information to DLinkDDNS.com." is occured only at the moment of turning on router. So when I reboot router, it make DNS update.

And I have one more problem that also seems not be fixed From ISP, I receive 50Mbp/s. Via WiFi I receive max. 25Mbp/s and via LAN connection max. 40Mbp/s. There is also router problem. I think FW update may help, but no result.

DIR-320 (H/w - A1 F/w - 1.22) - it's 802.11G wireless router.
The maximum wireless throughput for 802.11G connection is about 25 Mbps (in case if the connection rate is 54 Mbps).
So, you got the good results of wi-fi throughput.

Why max. speed is 25 and not 54Mbps?
